Following a time honoured tradition of using ‘chilling stones’ to cool whiskey and other spirits, Hennessy & Byrne present ‘Irish Ice’ Connemara Marble Ice Cubes; handcrafted from authentic Connemara Marble at the Hennessy & Byrne Marble Studio, Russborough House, Blessington, Co. Wicklow.
Ireland’s iconic green marble is found in the quarries nestled among the ‘Twelve Bens’ in Connemara, Co. Galway. This distinctive stone is more than 750 Million years old and reflects the colours of the rich green patchwork landscape of the Emerald Isle.
These little cubes are easy to use, simply rinse the stones with water prior to use , place in the pack provided and chill in the freezer. Add three cubes to your glass and pour your beverage until the liquid has reached the height of one stone. Your drink will be perfectly chilled and the balance of flavours preserved.
